2D Beams and frames
Learn how to use the 2D editor and review some engineering theory along the way. This is a good first step if you want to get comfortable using Structure Bench for 2D analysis; members built from nodes, materials, sections, supports and loads, solved and compared against formulas you already know. From there, we work through fixity and hinges, continuous beams, load cases and envelopes, non-uniform loads, trusses, portal frames and a braced frame. Finally, we wrap up this learning pathway by covering the limits of a linear elastic solution.
